About FAA

The Federation of Arab Air Sports, FAA – the Arab governing body for air sports and aeronautic excellence, is the premier organization for air sports across the Arab world and for certifying regional aviation and space records. The FAA was founded in 1994 and promote air sports within the Arab nations and is a non-governmental and non-profit-making organization dedicated to fostering aviation culture and sporting achievement throughout the region.

FAA activities include Skydiving, Aeromodelling, Gliding, Microlights, Paramotors, Paragliding, Ballooning, General Aviation, Rotorcraft, Power & Glider Aerobatics, Amateur Built & Experimental Aircraft, Hang Gliding, Space and Drones activities across the Arab world.

Mission & Vision

To unite and represent all Arab national air sports federations under a single governing body, promoting solidarity and cooperation across the Arab world.

To develop, promote, and regulate air sports disciplines including Skydiving, Aeromodelling, Gliding, Microlights & Paramotors, Paragliding, Ballooning, General Aviation, Rotorcraft, Power & Glider Aerobatics, Amateur Built & Experimental Aircraft, Hang Gliding, Space, Drones, throughout Arab nations

Goals

  1. To organize and oversee Arab Air Sports Championships and regional competitions, raising the level of athletic performance and technical standards.
  2. To prepare and qualify Arab athletes to participate in international competitions, including FAI World Championships and the Arab Games.
  3. To establish training programs, coaching certifications, and technical academies to build elite air sports talent across the region.
  4. To enforce unified safety regulations and technical standards in alignment with the FAI.
  5. To promote a culture of aviation safety, risk management, and responsible practice among athletes, and members.

A true air sports extravaganza, it attracts the region’s top air sports athletes, all vying to be awarded the title of FAA Arab Air Games Champion in their chosen discipline. The Arab Competitions started in 2008 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, while The Arab Air Games started in 2018 in Beni Mellal, Morocco.

The aims of the event include showcasing air sports to the general public across the region and attracting new participants, as well as promoting FAA events to other sports organizations and creating an attractive platform for TV, media and other external stakeholders throughout the Arab nations and beyond.

The Arab Air Games is the premier, multi-discipline air sports event conducted under FAA rules.
